English , the most dynamic language in the world .. hardest to learn and difficult to teach .. the real beauty is that it can be used to described or relate almost any situation or fact without resorting to ambivalence .. there are few words in the English language that have their origins in the Anglo Saxon tongue .. oddly enough Americans speak the purest for of 'old' English' since they have little European input into the dynamism of the language ..most of the expressions you have given above are due to 'visual descriptive' not factual science ..
